About Us

Ruben Furcayg (February 28, 1945 to April 9, 2020) built his career with curiosity, discipline, and a deep respect for his craft. His passion for electronics began early, leading him to New York’s Samuel Gompers Technical High School and later the RCA Institute, where he developed the technical foundation that shaped his professional life.

Ruben began his entrepreneurial journey with a television repair business before moving into leadership roles with respected manufacturers including Nutone, Elbex, Koyo, and Ikegami. As his experience and reputation grew, he became known for his technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and the trust he built with customers and partners.

In 1977, Ruben founded Graystone Systems, Inc., followed by the founding of Ruben & Company in 1992, a multi-line sales agency focused on security and electronics representation. After his son David joined the business and assumed greater responsibility, Ruben was able to expand his role with Ikegami, serving as Managing Director in a consulting capacity for more than 15 years. In that role, he traveled extensively throughout the United States and internationally, representing the brand and strengthening its presence through long-standing relationships and industry knowledge.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ruben was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife and by his son, David, whom he mentored both personally and professionally. Ruben often expressed how proud he was to see David continue and grow the company he built, pride that was spoken frequently and meant deeply.

Ruben loved to travel and enjoyed concerts, the opera, and Broadway. His legacy lives on through his family, the company he founded, and the values he instilled, which remain at the heart of Ruben & Company today.
